House Fund

This jar sits on our bathroom counter.
All of our loose change goes into it.
Sometimes we sacrifice a bill or two.

It's a visual reminder of what we are working towards-
Four walls, a roof, wood floors, and indoor plumbing to call our own.

Spring

While there is a one pet limit on this apartment, there is no plant limit.
My daughter and I found this little guy in the tree lawn (the strip of grass between a road and side walk).  We decided to transplant him.
Now he lives in a can on our windowsill.
He not only survived the transplant, but he seems to have even perked up.
Maybe it's because there are no other weeds to fight with.

I have not decided if I'll name him.
I named my orchid, Chesterton, but I'm not sure if it's worth naming an annual.

Carcassonne

My favorite game right now is Carcassonne.
It is named after an actual city in France known for it's walls and towers.
In the game you have square tiles that you take turns drawing and placing.  You get points for every castle and road you build.
There are also monasteries, commodities, and fields you can claim.
It's sounds super complicated when someone explains the rules to you, but you can catch on before the game is half over.

I'm passing on the love of this game to my daughter.
We played by the 18 month rules, which means drawing pieces and placing them very seriously and very randomly all over the table and scoring board.

What game are you passing down to your children?

Time Capsule

I found this in my closet today.
For my seventeenth birthday party I had everyone put something into a time capsule that would be opened in 10 years.
It will be opened again March 30th, 2019.
That sounded so far away when I taped it up, but now it seems like it's not that far away.
I remember what some of the people put in, but I cannot remember what I put in.
Maybe I didn't put anything in.  It was my party.
We'll find out in 6 more years I guess!
