The bird woman

We stayed with an elderly widow friend who can't be by herself for extended amounts of time.
She walks as softly as a cat and sneaks outside in the morning to feed her birds.
She walks down the lane leading to her house and feeds the early birds meal worms she raises herself.
She crawled around on the floor under the dining room table chasing my daughter.
She has trouble remembering things sometimes, but told us the names of all kinds of flowers and birds.
She lives on the the same farm she was born on, and doesn't want to leave it.
